PRE-ORDER - Exhibit G by Fady Joudah
PRE-ORDER - Exhibit G by Fady Joudah
£25.00

What does it mean to be a Palestinian living in America during an active genocide on the Palestinian people? This is the question at the centre of National Book Award Finalist and Jackson Poetry Prize winner Fady Joudah’s new work. In this searing assemblage of poems, essays and photographs, Joudah uses his position as both poet and doctor to examine and respond to the catastrophic impact of Israel’s assault on the people of Gaza.

As erudite as it is tender, Exhibit G bonds together the relationship between poetry, lyric essays and photography, inviting readers to consider what genocide looks like from both an interior and exterior perspective. The images selected neither sidestep horror nor “curate” genocide. Exhibit G is not only an indictment on European, U.S. and Israeli policy, but an artefact which captures the steadfastness and inconceivable will of the Palestinian people.

Readers will find Joudah grappling with his own position of being both Palestinian and American; physician, poet and subject. The collection guides readers through the mess and injustice that has been enforced upon the Palestinians since 1948. As he reminds us, ‘Palestinian interiority prevails over the unspeakable, because Palestinians experienced the unspeakable more than once, expressed it as that threshold beyond which all suffering is created equal, and all joy for life, too.’

lamping wild rabbits by Simon Maddrell
lamping wild rabbits by Simon Maddrell
£11.99

Longlisted for the Jerwood Prize for Best First Collection at the 2026 Forward Prizes

A fine, fierce collection, bravely worded, compellingly well put-together.’ – Neil Bartlett

In Simon Maddrell’s wide and bracing world, childhood orbits the voice of a distant and sometimes dangerous parent. Memories of sex parties, dead friends and estranged lovers straddle the spaces between feeling and thought, loss and fatalism. lamping wild rabbits is a brave and expansive multiverse, exploring sexuality, queer desire, memory recall and testimony. With poems that pay homage to the late Derek Jarman, to verses which situate themselves in and around the Isle of Man, exploring Britain’s colonial presence through the subverted interplay of English and the Manx language.

A poly-vocal and multifaceted debut which is unafraid to confront the shame and stigma of HIV, while never allowing the poems to lose shape or pace, altering the lens to bring the reader’s attention to birdsong and the queer body in nature.

Maddrell has achieved a distinct and totally convincing sound through the literary geography of lamping wild rabbits, one that gives the impression it’s been everywhere and returned because it survived.
