About Out-Spoken
Out-Spoken is a London-based arts organisation, founded in 2012 by Anthony Anaxagorou, with activities ranging across the literature and poetry sector, spanning live events, publishing, workshops and poetry courses.
Out-Spoken Press is an independent publisher of poetry and critical writing, established by Commissioning Editor Anaxagorou in 2015. The Press has been shortlisted for the British Book Awards’ Small Publisher of the Year in 2024, 2025 and 2026 and for the Michael Marks Publisher Award in 2024 and 2026. Press titles have won the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, and been shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize, the Rathbones Folio Prize and the Forward Prizes.
Our flagship Out-Spoken Live shows are London’s largest and Europe’s longest-running regular poetry night. With a unique energy and format featuring poets and live music acts, hosted by Polari and T.S. Eliot Prize-winning poet Joelle Taylor, Out-Spoken Live has been in residency at London’s Southbank Centre since 2019,

Award-winning British-born Cypriot poet, Anthony Anaxagorou FRSL founded Out-Spoken Live in 2012 and Out-Spoken Press in 2015.
As Director and Commissioning Editor, Anthony is engaged in all areas of Press activity, from events to workshops, and his creative vision shapes our publishing list across poetry and non-fiction.
Patricia Ferguson
Director & Managing Editor
Patricia joined Out-Spoken Press in 2019. With a background in law, she works closely with Commissioning Editor Anthony Anaxagorou across all aspects of the Press, including co-ordinating the logistics of bringing titles from manuscript to publication, design, proofreading and typesetting. Maria joined the team in 2025, bringing her energy, expertise and attention to detail to our events, marketing, workshops and publishing.

Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI)
In response to the call from Palestinian artists and cultural workers for a cultural boycott of Israel, and against the settler colonialism, violent apartheid and genocidal campaign of the Israeli state, Out-Spoken Press is committed to adhering to the guidelines for the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel.
We continue to reject censorship and uphold the fundamental importance of freedom of expression.
